A neti pot is a small pot used for irrigating the nasal passages. Typically it has a spout attached near the bottom, sometimes with a handle on the opposite side.

The Maldives Trip
Well, this turned out to be THE epic surf trip. The waves were insane the entire time. Myself, Tim Freeman and Lee Duff ended being the only three out of an original line up of about nine. The original plan was to celebrate Craig Kilby’s 40th bday, but he and the other five couldn’t make it for various reasons.
Long travel but epic waves, epic friends and fantastic food. The pics tell more so watch the below slideshow.

Zimbabwe Dollar
The first Zimbabwean dollar was introduced in 1980 and replaced the Rhodesian dollar at par. The initial ISO 4217 code was ZWD. At the time of its introduction, the Zimbabwean dollar was worth more than the U.S. dollar, with ZWD 1 = USD 1.47. However, the currency’s value eroded rapidly over the years. On 26 July 2006, the parallel market value of the Zimbabwean dollar fell to one million to the British pound.
Inflation is even worse since then. It’s mindblowing how bad Robert Mugabe has been for his country.

dreams and earthquakes
I experienced a tremendously vivid dream about an earthquake today. Turns out there was a 4.4 near LA today. My dream was about a major one in the Bay Area and it was pretty intense. Thought I’d post about P-waves….
P-waves are type of elastic wave, also called seismic waves, that can travel through gases (such as sounds), elastic solids and liquids, including the Earth. P-waves can be produced by earthquakes and recorded by seismometers. The name P-wave stands for primary wave, as the P-wave is the fastest among the elastic waves, compared to the S-waves.
Earthquake advance warning is possible by detecting the non-destructive primary waves that travel more quickly through the earth’s crust than do the destructive secondary and Rayleigh waves. The amount of advance warning depends on the delay between the arrival of the P-wave and other destructive waves, generally on the order of seconds up to about a minute maximum for deep, distant, large quakes. The effectiveness of advance warning depends on accurate detection of the P-waves and compensation for ground vibrations caused by local activity (such as trucks or construction work).
